6 palms of various materials are placed on a game board. Materials include: sandpaper, cork material, smooth and ripped foil, cloth and plastic. Textures are smooth, spiny, ribbed and rough. Kit includes 6 similar palms, each on a separate plywood square tile.
The game is designed for development of child’s sensitometry. It’s no secret fine motor skills is a basis for the development of such mental processes as attention, memory, perception, thinking and speech at any age. During the class, the younger child simply puts his palm on the board and studies, remembers the sensations he experiences from touching different surfaces; or closes a palm on the board with a similar separate one. Older kids can be asked to find a palm in a bag or box and describe it or find a palm in a box by description. In the course of classes, such concepts as “right” and “left”, the names of the fingers are acquire.
